History
History of the cemetery is very
limited at this time and still being researched.
Paranormal Accounts
Carterville Cemetery is reported to
be one of the most paranormally active cemeteries in Jasper County.
After numerous requests, information received and accounts we decided
it was time for an investigation. It is reported apparitions and
shadows can be found at this cemetery. There is such an intense sence
of unease that even law enforcement patroling the area describe the
cemetery as eerie.
Personal Experiences
We had permission to investigate
the cemetery. What we didn't take into account were the neighbors. The
cemetery is surround by private homes, we found out they have weapons
and do not like people around at night. Our promising investigation was
short lived. We were not allowed the oppurtunity to thoroughly
investigate the Carterville Cemetery and cannot say if the accounts of
paranormal activity are true. However, interesting the cemetery is we
strongly discourage anyone from going there.
